my story

Hello all my name is Evonne i got diagnosed with crohns in 2009. i suffered with lots of pain for over ten years or more, lots and lots of visits to gp's, thankfully it was a student doctor that put my swollen joints, swollen tummy and pains and also weight loss to be all connected. (thank you to the student). i was then in and out of raigmore (inverness) getting lots of test and support from Dr Younger and team.

Sept 2010 i had a op to remove some of my small bowel and had to have ileostomy.
27th April 2011 i have had my reversal so still in my recovery at mo.

I have had so much support from all the staff at Raigmore, they have been so great to me, mr Watson, Dr Younger and team, Stoma nurse Cathie and all staff in 4c.

Hi Evonne and welcome!

Congrats on your reversal - hope the recovery is going well and you are feeling good!

Nice to hear how much you like your doc and the staff - it's so important to like your doc and feel like you are being treated well!

Hope the surgery did the trick and you feel better for a long time!

hello Amy

thank you for message, yes been a hard year with op's and recovery but all for the best and feeling really well, onwards and upwards :)

Thank you David,

Yes i will have a look at the stoma support page.
my stoma nurse was surprised to hear that i was upset after my reversal but she could also understand as i felt that all my control of having a bag was taken away from me. so it was a bit of a emotional time but i am getting there now, keeping fit running back and foward to toilet again :) but hey im sure it will calm down soon.

Hi Evonne from across the water in Uist :) I've been to Stornoway for tests, but not Raigmore ... As yet! It's great to hear that you have such a good support team and also that you found your way here.
