Hi Bailey
Glad you found us!
I've been diagnosed a shorter time than you have, but I have looked back at the past and can pinpoint random times in my like that I thought I was fighting off a stomach bug or some other unexplainable health issue that I think was early signs of Crohn's.
I don't have any personal experience with Cimzia, as I am on Humira, but if you check out the
Treatment forum, you can look and see what other threads people have posted about Cimzia. Also, located at the top left of the website is a Search option where you can search more specifically for Cimzia and other topics. Hope you can find more info on hat you are looking for with those two suggestions.
Weight gain should be normal for any person with Crohn's whose medications are working. Inflammation is the biggest reason why we have a hard time absorbing nutrients properly, not to mention diminishes our appetites. Once inflammation decreases, our appetites come back and the body is able to absorb more nutrients and vitamins. So, a person may experience more weight gain as a result of those two things. It is another good reason to engage in some light exercise to maintain healthy weight gain.
As far as joint pain, I did a quick Google search of Cimzia side effects. The first post to pop up was from Cimzia's website. Joint pain is listed as one of their top 3 side effect complaints. If the joint pain becomes unmanageable or worrisome, you should inform your doctor.
Hope that helps
Welcome again!
