Hey, I'm doing this from my Mom's account and this is my first time doing this so... wish me luck
My name is Caitlyn and like everyone else on this forum, I'm a teenager. I was diagnosed with Crohn's about five days before my 11th birthday and have been having trouble with it since it began. Since I live in St.Louis, I don't have very many options. I went to NYC to see a specialist and he started me on methotrexate which seemed to put me in remission for about 2 months. I was able to go to sleep away camp this year without problems but nothing seems to be working for me. I have tried remicade, 6mp imuran, methotrexate, prednisone, humira, etc. I had a Steven Johnson reaction to the 6mp so I stopped that. I fainted on about my fourth dose of remicade so we stopped that too. In December of 2010, I got a bowl re-sectioning, that only helped for about three months. Don't get me wrong, the pain went from stabbing to a knot since then, but now the pain is back.
Right now I'm on Pentasa, prednisone, nexium, amytriptaline, florajin, and cefidnir (for pneumonia). I already missed the first 3 weeks of school because of this stupid pain. :sign0085:
My Mom wants to start me on this six week shake diet thats supposed to put your Crohn's in remission for about 10 years :eek2: anyone heard of it?
Thanks
Caitlyn :quack:
