I spent two seperate weeks in the hospital in January and Febuary this year. Was told I have crohns in febuary. Had been taking 40 mg of prdnisonemost of the year. Took asacol with no results. one other drug i cant remember. Imuran which made me nausea, and now I am on Humira 40 mg and have been since april or may. had a colonoscopy yesterday in which showed i still have 8 inches of my illium still inflamed. Doctor spoke to my family about adding Methotrexate to the Humira.Going to call dr tomorrow for the results of test and where to go from here. I have a problem though, I have developed a mental block on pushing the button on the Humira pen. Didn't havea problem at first, but now cant seem to make myself do it. And don't want anyone else giving it to me either. I know that sounds wimpy but thats where i am at now.

Greeting and welcome. Thanks for joining :)

It's not wimpy not being able to inject yourself. Sometimes these things happen. My suggestion would be to post a thread about it in our Humira forum located here. I'm sure plenty of others have had the exact same problem and can provide ideas that might help you through the block.

How are you feeling at this point? Any better yet?

I wish you well!

Hello and welcome to the forum :)

Definetly check out the above mentioned forum to get advice regarding the Humira pen. Just to confirm are you still on the Pred or has this now stopped? What symptoms do you still get? Have you had any type of of improvement over the past months?

Not on pred now. Tapered off and been off about a month. my symptoms are mainly just pain. I have good days and bad days. along with the other "normal" stuff that goes with it. Not sure I want to take the MTX yet. May discuss surgery with dr. I have had symptoms for about three or four years before ending up in hospital this January for the first time.

Why exactly are you not sure about the Methotrexate yet? Has the doctor brought up the idea of surgery with you previously?
