Well update time, just back from seeing colo-rectal surgeon, he is pleased with progress over all and wants to see MRI scan before we go further. He is keen to see if there is any obvious pockets of sepsis anywhere, if not I will be restarting the azathioprine, as far as the sunken stoma is concerned he wants to leave it as it is at the minute to see if things continue to pass ok via the tail end, he thinks the stoma output may continue to lessen and more of the stoma may heal over but that it won't cause any problems only minor skin irritation , if in a couple of months things are still ok in the retro peritoneal area he will close the colostomy, only downside is that as it has sunk so much he may not be able to get the bowel up enough to close it which would mean opening up down the middle again which in his own words would be more work for both of us! So I now sit here and wonder am I really any further forward ! Dear only knows when I'll get an MRI !
