I saw my regular GI doctor. He said my path results indicate constipation.

He also said the inflammation, proctitis, and etc are constipation related. I guess my pain, bleeding and other symptoms are just from constipation.

He thinks it's IBS/a motility disorder and not IBD. He mentioned something about the colon muscles not working normally.

I'm guessing you're not convinced by your GI's diagnosis, and that you know bleeding and inflammation cannot be caused by constipation?

That said, it's not usually recognised just how severe some cases of constipation can be. For most people it just means feeling a bit bloated because they haven't been for a few days, or having to strain. But in some cases - usually when there's some underlying disorder - it can lead to impaction, overflow diarrhoea, and severe pain. I don't think it would cause bleeding though, unless it's led to haemorrhoids.

I guess I believe him. I don't have hemorrhoids. I'm not sure about the bleeding.

Bleeding is never normal - if you don't have haemorrhoids, it means you might have something more serious going on. I don't mean to worry you - and I don't have any medical expertise other than all the reading I've done around my own illnesses, so I could be wrong about this - but I've not heard of bleeding and inflammation being caused by constipation before.

How are you feeling? Has your doctor any plan on how to treat your symptoms?

He said the bleeding is from fecal impaction. He said to take Miralax or a stool softener.

I also have pain, nausea, constipation and diarrhea. I had the flex sig. He didn't want to order another colonoscopy.
