So last Friday I was sitting at my desk at work and noticed a pain in my left forearm, specific to a 'spot'.....by the end of the day, I had a 'nice' bruise, about 2 inches across......no recollection of hitting myself on anything etc...

I also have an almost matching bruise on my RIGHT arm - about the same distance from my wrist, on the back of my forearm...but this one isn't quite as big.....

Now, I've had some mysterious bruising on my calves before - probably from assorted bumps and broken blood vessels - but this is the first time I can recall having bruises like this appear on my forearms.....AND they are painful...

Anyone ever see something like this before? I've uploaded two pictures - kind of hard to see the bruising but you can notice a yellowish/green color where the bruising is starting to fade....

Have you seen a Rheumo ?
They handle vascular disease which sometimes happens seperate or together with ibd .
Would be worth trying to get them or dermo to look at it .
DS has equal success with both docs .
Hoe you get answers soon

Have you had a CBC blood test done recently? If not, I wonder what your platelets and clotting factors look like (PT, INR) Sometimes bruising can happen if platelets and clotting factors are off for some reason. Good luck!

I get blood work done every other Remicade infusion - forget if I had it drawn last time....I have my next infusion on Monday and will be checking with the nurses there to see if I should get anything else checked even if I'm not due for my routine labs.....I know they check all the basic stuff, and vitamins B and D.....

Also, ask if they check Liver Function tests as well, since clotting factors are made in the liver. Good luck!

Carolin - I have had that in the past, on both legs, never on my arms....and didn't present the same way.....
