need advise
Hi,
My name is Marci, I have Crohns disease. I have had it for 11 years, it started when I was 30 weeks pregnant with my now 11 year old daughter (God bless her)! I have a permanent ileostomy, they initially tried the J pouch surgery on me & found out it was Crohns & not UC. For the most part I do ok, I have my moments. I am on Pentasa currently. Well a few days ago, I had terrible abdominal pain & I work in a hospital as a Respiratory Therapist & I was at work. So they made me go to the ER ( I am not a good pt).lol. They did a CT & first said I had a bowel obstruction, then later the surgeon said I did not have a bowel obstruction, but my bowel was dilated? and the NG was & potassium IV fluids were helping to decompress the bowel. I am home & the pain is much, much better, they had to give me diladid for the pain, demerol wasnt working & it usually does when I have a flare up.I just started this new job & do not have insurance until 2/1/09. I have a doc who is a specialist (colon rectal surgeon), that I can go to for a check up. I had a small bowel follow through awhile back & that also showed some bowel dilation. Is this something to worry about? should I see the specialist & make payment arrangments? or wait? is there any special diet? I know, no raw fruits, veggies, corn,popcorn,seeds.etc. any advise? I am scared. I also have a lot of stress right now, I dont know if that make it worse, some say it does some say no. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
