I am looking for a protein drink that is Allergen-free, Gluten-free, and Dairy-free that is available at GNC, Sprouts, or a Health Food Store. I've already tried the Vitacost Brown Rice Drink, which contains: Non-GMO brown rice protein, vegetable gum-colloid, natural vanilla flavor, stevia leaf extract.

I have no problems with Brown Rice - it actually helps. Nor Stevia. Unfortunately, one of the ingredients is Vegetable Gum. Is Vegetable Gum not Gluten Free? I am finding out that it is under the category of "Might contain gluten." The drink above labels itself as Diary, Gluten, and allergen free. It is causing severe left-sided stomach pain (in the colon area).

I am also having gallbladder problems and will likely have it removed - though I don't know if it is my gallbladder or Crohn's causing problems with protein.

Any and all recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I ended up just making my own DF protein drink because I got so frustrated with the store options. Also, I hate all the additives, especially oils. I just toss the following ingredients into a blender, divide into mason jars and freeze. Whenever I'm ready I defrost and drink - but also is a great frozen treat. If you are not able to have all of these items, I would start with coconut milk, bananas and GF protein powder and then add whatever sounds good from there!

1 can of Trader Joes extra creamy coconut milk
1/2 can of Trader Joes light coconut milk
Hemp Protein
1-2 tbs Almond Butter or Peanut Butter
Honey
Chia Seeds
1-2 Bananas
Cinnamon
1 tbs raw cocoa
ice
(I add a little bit of vanilla bean if it's around, too)

Generally when something says "May contain gluten" when it's a gluten-free product it's because it's made in a factory where gluten is also present and has a chance of cross-contamination. While it might be the drink giving you pain, it might not be as well and it could just be your current flare up.

That said hemp protein is great. But as far as the rest goes I think you're probably left with egg and rice, and those two should be in GNC. That said I buy online since it's cheaper :p

If you completely run out of options though, just eating protein should work too.

You'd probably have to order this online as I haven't seen it in store anywhere but Absorb Plus works really well for me, lots of protein and calories, easy to digest, and actually tastes quite good. It is $$$ though.
