Hello. I haven't been officially diagnosed...but I am in the process and have all the symptoms of Crohn's Disease...I am scared of it because I dont know much about it...i do know that my GI tract hates me and I dont really know what makes symptoms better...right now I am going through I think a flare up. Please tell me how to make it more tolerable??

Let me ellaborate a little. Just about 2 years ago, I started having some symptoms. I thought it was just a bad stomach flu. I kept getting diagnosed with gastroenteritis, which is extremely debilitating, but i kept getting sick! Now, when i feel something coming on...i take a cocktail of different things attacking each symptom..IE gassex, pepti bismol, anti-nausea meds and something for lactose intolerance. It doesnt stop there though. Now, recently, i have been bleeding rectally. (Sorry so graphic) and it hurts to go. I mean like razor blades...i am also very bloated and swollen...could this just be a GI virus i cant get rid of? Or should i consider Crohn's? Also, i started a gluten-free diet last year that almost made symptoms disappear...almost.

Have you been to a GI Doctor yet? So many things that could be causing this and Chron's can affect people in different ways.
Some people can eat something and get really sick then others can eat the same thing and be fine.
I can not drink milk, eat chocolate, nuts, popcorn, raw veggies or fruits with skins.
The chocolate will hurt so bad the next day and I will be bloated and be swollen for a few days.
Hope you can find out what it is and people with Chron's are so used to talking about what comes out of our rear ends that it's just normal to use. LOL

Hello and welcome to the forum.

I was also wondering if you are seeing GI and if so what tests have been carried out so far and what results have you had if any?

Do also check out our undiagnosed sub forum, there is a great bunch here to have a chat with who can offer additional support and advice: http://www.crohnsforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=75.

I do hope you can get some answers soon and can be getting on a treatment to get you better, please keep us updated on how you are getting on.

Hi there and welcome :)

I agree with the above, are you under the care of a gastroenterologist? Have you had a colonoscopy? If not, I think that's the next logical step.

I hope they get things figured out soon for you!
