Hey everyone names Kyle. I'm 19 and I've had crohn's for the past 11 years. Heres my story in short form.

-(1998)Diagnosed at 8 after losing 52 pounds in a matter of a month due to violent stomach cramping

-(2001)Flare ups, given prednizone everything clears up

-(2005)Flare ups, start 6-MP everything clears up

-(2007)Flare ups, start Remicade everything goes to plan and I feel better

-(2009)Bowel perforation in the descending colon. emergency surgery fixes that.. everything is better

-(August 7,2010)Bowel perforation in descending colon. 6 inches removed in emergency surgery, illeostomy is performed.

-(August 20,2010)Emergency surgery #3 to clean up after both ends of colon from pervious surgery blew open. Put on bowel rest, PICC line inserted.

Currently I have two external fistulas related to the crohns in my incision tract from the last surgery and an illestomy. I am still on bowel rest and TPN. (I hate no eating!!!) I am still on remicade and 6-MP.

-(Near Future)I will have my whole colon removed as it is heavily diseased as well as have the fistulas removed. There is a possibility of reversing the illestomy but won't know more until I see my surgeon on the 14th.

Thanks for listening.

Welcome to the forum. Looks like you've been through a lot despite young age. I'm going under the knife in 10 days and to me it just can't come soon enough...
