I need advice. I have had for several years pain in my abdomen on the lower right hand side. I went to doctors and was basically blown off. That's not my main issue. I had a siezure at work a few months ago. I use recreational drugs from time to time especially opiots they help with the abdominal pain and when coming off them amplify and seem to cause what someone with one of these diseases calls a flareup.

I think about it daily my side is always in at least discoumfort sometimes bad pain. I gave up on trying to explain my experiences relating to pain to anyone b/c according to doctors it was in my head so that's where i kept it. I now wonder if i have been fatigued for the past couple years. I was a 4.0 student working full time with an active social life now i lay in bed. I lost my last job b/c the siezure took my diving privlages away for a while.

I also recall getting constapated a few times once when i broke a bone and was on pain killers after taking stool softeners for the first 2 times this happened i experienced pain so bag in my abdomen i vomited. The 3rd time this happened i thought i had a Kinney stone and was vomiting from the pain. I went to the hospital the first time but once your labeled as someone who used opiots everything is b/c of that to everyone so I've gotten used to sucking it up.

Does really dark poo mean there is blood in it b/c i think that happens to me as well. Also alcohol is a major irritant usually. If i have a drink at dinner when going to sleep that night my side is very soar.

Am i in the right place? And if I am what do I do?

I would go to a doctor and tell them what happened. Have them test you for inflammatory bowel disease. Let us know what they say. Best to you. Welcome to the group.

You have a whole lot of issues going on here and it will complicate your case tremendously. Dark stools can be blood. Pain in the lower right quadrant is possibly a symptom - it is seen often in crohn's disease. Your previous narcotic use provides two problems for you. You may be seen as seeking narcotics and rightly so. Secondly, narcotics can cause constipation which if you have crohn's can really cause discomfort.

Not sure how to recommend your path ahead. You clearly need to explain to any doctor what you have done previously. You may face withdrawal symptoms that can affect your treatment. You do need to have a frank discussion with a doctor who will listen and you need to seriously discuss pain management and be aware you may not always get the answers you want. Pain management is a difficult one for crohnies and you have already unwittingly made that part of your treatment much more difficult.

Good luck with it in any case. No one deserves to suffer.

Im really hoping you can find soon a doctor who will listen to you. Return and knock at every door possible until you find a doctor who will listen. Change hospital if you dont trust where you have been already. Go and dont leave until they accept to investigate you. You have the right for proper health service. There are a few easy non-invasive test which are available in hospital for help in screening for an inflammatory bowel disease. These include blood tests and fecal calprotectine (a stool test), (blood tests alone are often not enough). good luck.

I lived in kirkland, there is a really good Dr right next to Evergreen Hosp. And because I am so tired I cant remember his name other than his last name starts with a Z!
