Hi!

My name is Ashley and i have been having issues with crohn's for a while. Everything in my bowels are in remission, but i have perianal complications that are insane and wont go away! lol! My problem is that i have flares of burning and stinging when i go number 2 and then it lasts for like a week or 2 and then it goes away on its own before im able to start a new medicine. I've been on flagyl before but had to stop b/c of neropathy. the only options left are anti-TNF which take forever to get ordered. then i also have constriction in the anal canal which is terrible. my doctor has dilated me once and then it only helped things for a week and then i had to see a colon and rectal surgeon to have it more aggressively dilated. the work of the surgeon works for almost a year but then it comes back and he has to fix it again. lately i have been feeling somewhat constricted again. i hate it! why do i always have trouble pooping? it sucks. i just want to be normal. i am also afraid that if it continues i will have to have a bag. the surgeon always tells me that if i can't go at least 6 months to a year with out needing it dilated that i will need a bag. i don't like him very much! lol! i am going on vacation in July with my family and i don't want to have to deal with this then.

Does anyone else have this problem? Any advice would be much appreciated!

Welcome to the forum Ashley. I can't help with your specific question but I'm sure soemone will be able to. There are lots of great people here with a broad range of experiences.

hi & welcome, Ashley.

i haven't had that issue either, so i can't really help with advice as to how to help your symptoms.. however i do know that some of our members have suffered with this particular thing so hopefully they'll come in and share their experiences/advice with you.

i do have a stoma though, and it really isn't such a scary negative prospect, so if ever your surgeon says it's time you had one formed, please don't be too scared and upset - there are many of us 'ostomists' on this forum, and we're doing ok with them, plus we're here as a support system for anyone who's possibly contemplating this form of surgery.

Hi Ashley...welcome! I have a stoma too and it's really not the end of the world. Sorry I don't have any advice for you about your problem, but like it's been mentioned, I'm sure there's someone here that can offer you some advice. Good luck to you!
