New Member-Pred Question

Hi. Just joined the forum. I've had CD for 35 years but have only had 3 major flares. I'm on my second day of prednisone and my wife pointed out that I'm super hyper. Is this a side effect of the pred? If so, does it go away? Thanks in advance.

Yes, it can be a side effect of prednisone but, like all things Crohnsy, it varies from person to person. Some people find that the effects wear off, with others it hangs around.

I didn't have the hyper effects but I am sure that some others will come on to give you their experience.

Hi and welcome. It's been years since I've been on pred. I felt like I could sprint a marathon the first week. Once I was off the effect disappeared.
