Hi everyone. New to the forum so thought i'd introduce myself. I'm Ali, i'm 26 and live in Central Scotland. I was diagnosed with Crohns in April this year, had syptoms for years but was always passed off as IBS by the doctors. Have since browsed this forum to get other peoples views and opinions and thought it was about time i joined up. Think the forum seems a great way to share thoughts and worries!

I'm currently on 2x2 pentasa a day and due my 2nd colonoscopy next week. I am not looking forward to the fleet!!!

I have also just found out that i'm pregnant so any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi and welcome! I am surprised you are having a colonoscopy after finding out you are pregnant (Congrats by the way!). Have you informed your GI, because I am not sure if you should have the procedure done while carrying. However, I am not a doctor; all I know is before any procedure (colonoscopy or flex sig) they ask me numerous times if I am pregnant and still even test me to be sure. So, I assume either it is not allowed or more caution needs to be taken.

Ive only just found out about the pregnancy and I saw my GP today, siad there was no reason not to have it. My worry is the sedation though. Will be phoning the specialist tomorrow to find out for sure. I wont go ahead if there is even a bit of doubt!

Hey there

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on the pregnancy :) I found my crohns improved during both my prenancies, I hope this is the case for you too :)
