New to all this stuff have a few questions

ok as i said im a newbie my drs did bloodwork last week got my results a few days ago n they said i was pos for crohn's they said borderline lvl is 24 n my lvl was 59.8 they r gonna mail me my results so i have a copy... 1 r they right is those lvls def pos for it ??? 2 ive had diarrhea issues for yrs but i put it of on other thing till i started seein blood but i have lost about 100lbs in 3 months n ive noticed this once before but now its really noticable when i have a flare up on my sides i find lumps one on each side n its only there y im in a flare up is this normal ??? sry idk what to expect n kinda worried about everything
 
I'm not certain what test you are talking about. There is the prometheus test but it isn't a definitive test. The gold standard is a colonoscopy with biopsies. Some pathologists have to identify a granuloma to tick the crohns box but if several tests point towards CD, the symptoms are present and the pattern of inflammation along with biopsies fit then GIs usually go forward with the diagnosis.

Some tests commonly used to aid in dx are upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, imaging such as MRE, SBFT (sorta outdated), CT scan or pillcam.
 
I think that everyone's symptoms can be different. Has the doctor talked with you about the lumps?
 
no i havent met with gi drs yet my reg drs office said 2 weeks at least n i havent told my reg dr about those yet was gonna on my next appt but dr said gi is most important so i wont see him till after my gi appt n tests r done ....... n yeah clash ik that i wont know forsure till i see my gi n get those tests .... just my reg drs nurse was like oh ur pos for crohns so study up on it n learn as much as u can n thats what i been doin but i aint been able to figure out what test they did cuz i couldnt find anything
 
ok i ask my drs office to send me a copy of my bloodwork n its that asca test

s. cerevisiae igg was 11.9
s. cerevisiae iga was 59.8 h
says its highly specific CD
any opinions on this?
still waitin for an appt
 
appt is set for june 1st thats the earliest they can get me in... was hopin i would know more before my son gets married next month guess not .... unless someone cancels i might get in sooner ...
 
update i go in for my colonoscopy on friday the 24th kinda scared cuz they r gonna put me under to do it ..... will update ya when i hear anythang
 
well its not crohns we will find out next week if i have Ulcerative colitis or not the dr is pretty sure i have some form of ibd just what idk so i dont know what they will do next or treatment will update if i find anything out n they did remove Polyps .... results of biopsy will be next week

I need a Ct scan with contrast or a small bowel series. I saw someone posted earlier that
the SB series was a bit out dated. So I ma not sure about that one.

well today i called for my biopsies n they came back normäl n they said my colonoscopy was clear n if i had crohns i would of showed signs n they refusing to do the other tests im so aggravated right now they was like come baĉk in 10 yrs for ur next colonoscopy
 
well atm no cuz they r refuseing to do anymore tests i called my reg dr n left message for them to contact me about gettin a new gi dr
 
just got a call from gi dr office n i guess they changed thier mines after i fought with them last week they sceduled me a ct scan at 8 am july 19th

hey tots pray they find something in the morning so i know whats causen my troubles ... i go in for ct scan with contrast at 8am

ty ron im gonna need it just found out y i have to go see a blood specialist my white blood cell count is high my hematocrit is high n my mchc is abit low n from what i was lookin up on cbc explaining everything. it can be early signs of crohns ..ofc idk much about this stuff i was just reading my results n that came up so i see him aug 4th

I'll keep you in mind. I have my follow-up appointment with my GI to discuss the results of the colonoscopy the day after you see your hematologist. Good luck.
 
got my ct scan results they said all i have is a fatty liver that showed up but still cant explain my rapid weight loss or y my body is rejecting my food n haven to run back n forth to the restroom the bloating n cramping other the i have ibs so idk im lost at whats wrong with me now

I have a fatty liver, as well, which was found when I had an abdominal ultrasound to check for gallstones. Have you been tested for cholecystitis? It can cause weight loss (due to malabsorption and/or loss of appetite), bloating, cramping, vomiting, nausea, etc.

GinaKay, my blood levels have been off for two years! Slightly elevated liver enzymes, iron deficiency anemia, and more. Try to relax. I have mild Crohn's and don't flare too often (KNOCK ON WOOD!)
 
idk what äll tests my reg drs have ran lately i go in for full blood work up next month but will ask when i see him again
 
Typically, your gallbladder function is not measured through bloodwork. I would recommend asking your doctor about an ultrasound and/or HIDA scan. The HIDA scan is the most comprehensive test to measure gallbladder function and it also checks the function of your liver. I had mine done about a month ago and they injected dye into my vein and then the same hormone that is released when you digest food to make your gallbladder release bile.

i try not to just hard not knowing whats wrong with me y my cbc is acting up n all the bowel problems n things just gettin to me idk if my dr is gonna want me to see blood specialist now the gi dr found the fatty liver if thats causeing my abnormal results

Unless your liver is enlarged or you are jaundiced, it is likely nothing to be worried about. Mine is functioning normally even though it is fatty. The GI palpated my upper abdomen and said he couldn't feel the borders, so it was likely not causing my symptoms. The HIDA scan backed him up. :)

cant be gallbladder it was removed back in 95

yeah first time ive ever heard of this one but ik back in 2000 when i was preggo with my youngest my liver had stopped working they wanted to do exploritory surgery n i told him not till after my baby is born n was told not to have anymore cuz my major organs was shuttin down with her
