new to site

Hi there,

I'm new to the site, but not to crohn's. Diagnosed back in early 1997. I've been checking out this forum over the past few days and decided to join. Nothing like this existed when I first got sick! I think it's a great site and I look forward to learning more and meeting new people.

Cheers to everyone!

:welcome:Hi Peeces, and fellow Canadian! I know what you mean about the computers not being around when I was dx. I really had to depend on my Gp and GI back in 1993. I have learned so much on here, because we KNOW how it feels. Not like a male doctor trying to tell you about labour pains. Heck that was a piece of cake compared to a acute Crohns bowel obstrution . :ywow:.

Tell us more about yourself. How long have you had symptoms and what med are you on now. Great community here, to vent, laugh or learn.

Glad you are here!

Hi peeces :bigwave:

Welcome aboard. Glad you found us and I look forward to seeing you around.

All the best,
Dusty

Thanks for the warm welcome! I'm doing pretty well. I'm currently taking Cipro and monthly B12 injections. Thinking about looking into some natural alternatives as I don't find Cipro too helpful and I'm not too keen on being on it long-term. I've been on it now for 3 years. I was previously taking Pentasa and Prednisone on occasion. Couldn't really swallow the Pentasa (literally - they'd dissolve before I got them down!) so I went without meds for quite some time. I'm looking forward to checking out the treatment section of this forum to see what other people have experienced with all the different meds. Look forward to seeing you all around on the web!

Cheers,
R
