hi all, i am new to the forum. i have just been diagnosed with crohns. and currently going through hell with the whole thing!!! realy bad pain no sleep and massive weight loss :D. to top it all off the prednisilone i am on is giving me bad side affects!!!
but then again i feel like i can moan as your all in the same boat! nice to find a place like this where i no longer feel like leaper and feel like the only person that knows just how bad this thing can be!!

Welcome to the forum!
You're fine to vent as much as you like and ask for any advice
(Im undiagnosed going through investigations) but everybody is fantastic on here amd they'll be able to help.
i was on prednisolone last year for 3mths.. and i think loads of people have bad side effects with it. i know i did... terrible mood swings and couldnt stop eating, acne. pffft.. hate the stuff! But it works ;)

Anywho, hope you're ok after your diagnosis. Im sure you'll begin to feel right at home on here ;) everyone is lovely

Hi ghostman and welcome to the forum.

So sorry about your diagnosis. Is prednisone the only treatment you are on at the moment? What are your side affects? I have a love-hate relationship with that little pill, but I currently don't need it. Whew!

Yes, you're welcome to whinge and moan as much as you'd like. We all do it sometimes. Come here often and vent whenever necessary.

Hello and welcome to the forum :bigwave: What side affects are you having and what has the doc said about it? There is another steroid that can be used which is considered more 'friendly' called Budesonide so it might be worth asking about this. What has been said about a long term treatment plan for you and have they said anything about looking at your diet? Fingers crossed fhey can get the Pred issue sorted and you will start to feel better soon.

hi again, thanks for the support. sorry was such a brief first post but i have had a bad day and zero energy so couldnt write more.
i will try and give you some background to whats actualy happened, to be honest alot of it didnt fall into place untill the last couple of days ive been reading stuff on here. now alot of my history makes sense to me.
if i dont get to finish this tonight (bad bad bad pain) i will add to it soon as i can.
well things started pretty bad about 4 years ago with bad pain and alot of D with fair amounts of blood mixed in, my dad was dying at the time with bowl cancer so i wasnt in a rush to get any tests (in denial and scared stiff!). things got worse and my business was starting to suffer ,i was working to hard and playing too hard and ended up colasping! a week in hospital but with no tests done and i was sent home! things got worse for me and i started getting in with people i shouldnt have (but looking back and reading here it may of actualy helped)so i strted to smoke MJ heavily and drinking alot. the stomach seemed to settle some and i was feeling better, finaly got some tests done although by then was feeling alot better than i had before! dureing the colonoscopy alot of biopsies were taken and the GI doc was convinced looking at the valve on my terminal illium that i had cancer!!! panic set in! i was rushed all over the hospital for various tests and prescride morphine for pain relief.
the tests came back as crohns (i was happy with that then). now we skip a very bad part of my life...........6 months after all this i met a wonderful girl and we moved house had a baby and i got my life in control again. total remision untill 6 months ago :( pain blood and D like never before! so back on the test circuit again wich here is slow, my GP was rubish so have just changed to another one. as for side affects they have been horendous, i will detail later when i have energy.
thanks all

Wow! What an update!

I'm sorry that you're unwell again. Fingers crossed that the new doc can help you.

Thanks for taking the time to put all that down for us to read. I know you must be exhausted, so rest up all you need to.

I'm looking forward to reading more and getting to know you.
