New to the forum!

Hey everyone!
I have poked around on this for so long that I thought it is finally time to join :dusty:

I am a 21 year old female with severe small bowel churns. I had been suffering tremendously for 3 years (and was fobbed off with IBS like most of us are *rolls eyes*) until I was finally referred to a gastroenterologist who literally took one look at my insanely skeletal frame and admitted me. I was told that I would be in for a while.. I naively thought that meant a few hours :rof:
I spent just over two months in hospital.

During that time, I received TPN and went through the old testings (MRI,CT etc)
my small bowel was extremely thickened but it wasn't until I was transferred to a specialist hospital and underwent a double balloon enteroscopy that I was diagnosed with Crohn's (then, only confined to my jejunum)


I started a tapering dose of pred and began humira.
Unfortunately, I am now sat in hospital for the second time in two months just wishing for some kind of relief
even though I have only just joined, I would always come on here to feel better as I knew there were others that understood

Hi and welcome.I know it's tough and stressful when first diagnosed,but you're definitely in the right place just now.Hopefully they'll get your meds sorted soon,and you'll be on track to remission.It's all trial and error at first until they/you find something that suits your particular symptoms.Have you discovered our "yound adults"thread.?
In the meantime,please keep us updated.You'll be a great help to others,as we're all different and are interested in how you're doing.Feel better soon.:ghug:
