So Sorry For What You Are Going Though

Bruce, I am sorry for what you are going through and I remember being in the hospital when I was first diagnosed from November through Valentine's Day. That was the worst, but I got through it and so will you. Surround yourself with positive people (family and friends who are trying to be understanding) and keep telling yourself 'And this too, shall pass'.

Good Luck and I hope you start feeling better soon.

Hi, and welcome to the forum. :)

Sounds like you are really having a go with the Crohns.. So sorry. Was the abscess related to Hidradenitis suppurativa? Or was it due to a fistula?

I hope you can get some relief. I bet you really need some!!

Hello Derrell,

I have had Crohn's for 18 years and only discovered this site last month - have to say it is superb and I have found so much encouragement and information - you are in the right place!

All the best,

Rob

Hello Derrell and :welcome: to the forum. Wow, that is quite an introduction you have had to the disease, your poor thing  You have definetly come to the right place to get information and more importantly support about having crohns. Out of interest what is the next surgery for? Pls do check out our Remi sub forum to get info about being on this: http://www.crohnsforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=58. Also do ask your docs about getting your vitamin levels checked (such at B12, D, Folate etc), it is common for us crohnies to be deficient in these and not having the correct supplementation can cause other issues.

I do hope that you can be feeling better soon, pls keep us updated on how you are getting on.

it was actually a pianal cyst. I think thats how you spell it. well anyway yea it was HUGE!!! It started on my lower back and ended in the crack of my butt. the doctors thought they was going to be able to lancet and be over with but boy was they in for a surprise!!! they had to spend an extra 2 hours in surgery with me!!! I woke up with 21 staples going down and in my butt. I have a scar from it the shape of a question mark(?) lol I also have a hard time going to sleep. Is this common? I wake up with hot-flashes just last night I woke upend the bed was soaking wet!! thats a nasty feeling. And I have been cold lately is that also common?

They have to take out this rubber band and decide wether they want to put a plug in me

Hi Derrell and welcome. Wow, I'm so sorry you're having to go through so much :( My heart goes out to you bud.

I hope everything gets under control soon. Since it sounds like they performed an ileocecal resection, you're going to want to get somewhat regular vitamin B12 tests done to make sure you are still absorbing enough. The terminal ileum (the last part of the small intestines before the large intestines) is where B12 is absorbed and it sounds like you had some removed.

We're here for you bud. All my best to you.
