I'm new to all this.about a month ago i had partial bowel obstruction.after a very long day in the the er i waqs refered to a gi... since then i have been through so many tests. i had a ct scan at the hospital that showed thicking and inflamation in the small int.... i had a colonoscpy but that was fine i had a barruim swallow with follow through that was fine. then i had a endoscope.. that showed food resduie and inflammtion in the stomach. no he wants to do a pill cam test.. but he's telling me he doesnt think its crohn's... but everything ive read says ibs does not cause bowel obs.. or onflmation.. so i dont know what to think... ive always had what i considered a senstive stomach... i have the runs alot.. and if i eat the wrong thing i running for the bathroom.. i've had stomach cramps off and on for years buy always thought thats just me...or i had the light flu... so now i'm totally freaked out... a little advive would be great

Hi Mere and welcome. You've definitely come to the right place for support.

Wow, you've been through a lot. When you had the colonoscopy done, did they do any biopsies? Microscopic colitis is very often misdiagnosed as IBS, and the only way to see it sometimes is to do several biopsies. Even then, it can be missed, though.

Don't give up. Hang in there.

You will probably find a lot of love and people that can relate in our Undiagnosed Club.

This is definitely the place to come! Sorry you have to go through all of that stuff & hopefully they will get to a diagnosis soon...It is a very frustrating issue, dealing with the GI tract & trying to find out whats wrong...As Jessi said don't give up & hang in there...& this is a good place to come if you have any questions or just want to vent...the peeps are great here... Some times it takes awhile for a diagnosis & my GI even told me I didn't have crohns...I didn't present as your typical crohns patient, but then after multiple tests & several biopsies I was positive for crohns...everyone can present different, but be persistent with your GI until you get a diagnosis...Good luck:)
