Hello,

I have a 4 year old with Crohn's who has been on Remicade since he was diagnosed Oct 2010, the medicine has been working great for him, but about 5 days after his last treatment he woke up with what looks like pimples all over his chest and under his arms but no where else, he does wear a shirt and shorts to bed, but it is not hot in my house. They went away after about 4 days. So I am wondering if anyone has ever experienced night sweats from Remicade? or had anything similar happen to them?
Thanks for your time,

Kacie

Never had either expereince with me. I'd advise just to call your doctor and find out for sure if this Remicade related. Hope he's okay and it keeps working great for him.

Kacie, I have never had the pimple rash but I do have night sweats. I wake up once a night and change my clothes because I am drenched through! I can't say for sure that it is the remi, because I've had them before, but never like this unless I was on pred. It's annoying, but not the worst reaction I could have so I deal with it.

Good luck with the little guy!

Night sweats can be a sign of flaring or infection in crohns. Not to say that is what is happening here to your little one. I had night sweats horrible. No fever! But terrible flare. I would just have him checked out, blood work wise to make sure. My symtoms started with night sweats, which can be common in crohns. And can also be a sign of infection, yes, even without the fever.(and here I thought it was just menopause that caused night sweats..but nooo..sadly not!)

Hope to hear that he is doing great very soon!

Thank you for replying Misty! We did confirm that he was in a flare-up at the beginning of the month from the blood work they did at his Remicade treatment. Just thought it was weird the night sweats happened about a week after the Remicade treatment and when he would have been on the tail end of the flare. He is doing well right now, the flare has passed. :) He is having blood work done in a couple days to determine how much Remicade is still left in his system they are trying to determine whether to increase the dose or frequency of the Remicade. And then has an appointment with his GI at the end of the month, so I will ask him then about the night sweats. Thank you again for the info :)

Did they put him on a high dose of Prednisone with the Remicade? For my first few infusions I was on a very high dose of Pred and it was giving me extreme night sweats. After a few weeks it would go away. My doctor lowered my dose on my last Remi infusion and I did not have night sweats.
