Hi, I have had crohns for over 20 years and mostly I am doing really well.I ski, hike etc.... In the last year or so I've had trouble at night with leakage,I've tried so many things to slow my bowels down but am getting frustrated..Was hoping someone out there has some advice for me,thanks

You should talk to your doctor. Your anal sphincter could be weak or damaged, and you should find out why. It's not normal to leak like that. Mine was damaged during abscess surgery, and it took a while before it would hold again.

Hi, welcome to the forum. I'm afraid I haven't got any answers, but just to let you know I sympathise with your problem. I had a problem in the night recently and it was very distressing, but thankfully (I hope) it seems to have been caused by an unpleasant stomach bug and not the Crohns itself. It made me think about how nasty it is to be affected during the night. Next time this happens, though, I'll use pads at night as well as during the day - better than having to change the bed at 3.00 am!

Oops, I jumped right in there. Welcome to the forum, we can sometimes be a bit opinionated. But, we're passionate about getting better. One thing you could try is exercising the muscle. Whenever you think of it, clamp it, hold and then release. That could make it stronger and hold better.
