I know this is common, but I was wondering if there was anything I could do to stimulate my appetite.
I have been undiagnosed for the last year, experiencing constant flares and little treatment. I don't what it feels like to be hungry anymore. I don't have that craving for food like I did when I was healthy. I cannot eat without the help of marijuana, though I'm undiagnosed and cannot obtain a MM card. That being said, if I don't have any I cannot eat. I just can't. I've been forcing myself to eat food everyday that I can. I've heard the stomach has cells similar to those of the brain, so it can learn very quickly that it does not want food. Either because of pain or just because. There are days that no matter what I cannot eat. I cannot force myself to take even one bite. Other days I'm too nauseated to even think about food. I've lost over 50lbs in the last year and still struggling with my weight.
I know it sounds like I'm overstating things, I kind of wish I was, but I just can't eat. I miss being hungry and not having to force myself to eat. I can definitely tell when my stomach is empty and it hurts if I go to long to eat anything, but not even that will get me to eat.
When I do eat, it is usually between 4-10 bites, I try to get all the protein I can, and when I can afford to keep it in stock, I subsist mostly on Ensure.
Really I want to know if there are any natural appetite stimulants out there. What do you do when you can't eat? Yesterday I was too nauseated to eat more than one bite of soup, I picked soup because I new it would be easier for me to eat than something more solid. I nursed a gatorade all day to get rid of the nausea, but it made it worse for some reason. I could taste nothing but sugar and just couldn't stomach it. Plus I'm still a little traumatized from previous preps with gatorade. Thank you for reading and any help you could give me.
