No Idea What To Eat

Hello everyone,

The last two days I have been in serious pain that is none stop. When walking, sitting, or eating I have cramps. I went to the hospital and they put me on flagalyn and Cipro. I was wondering if anyone has any diet tips to avoid this happening in the future. I suffer Crohn's in the lower ileum. Any ideas you guys have would be great! Thank you

Hi Warrior, I have been on both Flagyl and Cipro on and off for many years. Everyone is different here but most things to avoid are dairy, wheat, and raw veggies and red meat because it is chewy. Banana's help, bland foods, and if it gets bad Ensure or Boost. Best to eat smaller meals throughout the day. BTW no alcohol whilst on Flagyl, trust me you will be very very ill. There are alot of posts regarding diets. Researching them on here is very helpful and others will comment on their ideas. I use rice milk or almond milk, and avoid fatty foods. If your poop floats it is a sign of too much fat and that causes bloat, gas and pain. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Great advice! Might want to try some elemental drinks with high calories. They have saved me many a times. Just make sure the osmolcity(sp) is below 300. If it is not, you can dilute it with water to lower than number. Example - my doc writes a script for peptamen 1.5 and i put 200 cc's of water in to bring that osmolsity number down from 550.
