Quick update - Lucy has had a cough for about two weeks have been to go twice and they point blank refused to give her antibiotics.........so roll on today GI ordered chest X-ray due to coughing before giving infiximab and guess what chest infection so two weeks of antibiotics and we try again......think I need new gp

Oh that's just rotten! Grace is fighting a bad virus also. Bad time of year to get this.
I hope y'all have a good holiday and she heals up quick!

Hugs ... Yes to the new gp...
Ours gets the kids in fast and is very aware of the issues of remicade.
Hope she gets better soon

I agree. We have never had trouble getting antibiotics if needed, even when taking Remicade. GP always wants to knock out any bugs asap! They almost always do a Zpac so that the antibiotic round is shorter.

Oh no :( that is awful!

I hope Lucy will now soon be on the mend, bless her.

That's a shame! Hope she feels better soon. If it's any consolation, none of the GP's in Scotland would have given her antibiotics either. They are really, really reluctant to give antibiotics at all. My poor MIL went last week with a dreadful cough and could hardly speak and they told her it was a virus, there's nothing to be done!

Sorry, hear this your GP should be aware that a child on remicade is more susceptible to infection, sounds like you do need a new GP.

Oh, so sorry she's not well! :( I hope it clears up quickly and the delayed infusion doesn't cause any issues! :ghug:

Agree re the GP - you definitely need someone who's both onside with you and aware of the issues!
