noisy bowel???

Hi guys,
I am new to the forum. I wish all you be well. I need some help and advice to see if I can have a clue about what is affecting my intestines. After a long antibiotic round in 2008, my intestines have been on fire. One of my main symptoms is loud bowel sounds (gurgling) But what is more important to mention is this happen when I bend my abdomen. When I eat something and I sit down, the loud gurgling start. It sounds like when you put water to an empty pipe which is partially blocked and drain slowly. I don't know if with Crohn's the intestinal tract can twist or get blocked to a point that cause these noises. If I keep stand, I don't hear any noise. In fact, if I am seated hearing the noises and I stand up, they stop.
Please, advice me what to do. I don't know what kind of test I have to ask for to see if something is blocking my intestines. RX??? CT scam??? What do you think??

Thanks,
Jorge.

Hi Jorge and welcome! I think we have all had the embarrassing noisy bowels from time to time.

Be sure to tell your doctor all of your symptoms described above, and they will be able to tell you the best test to figure out what's going on.

Good luck! - Amy

Mine makes noises all the time. Now that you mention it, it is usually when I am sitting or lying down, not when I am standing. Unless it hurts I usually think of it as a good thing as it means things are moving down there. If it hurts as well, I take it to mean I have a partial blockage which I can usually get to clear on its own. But definitely mention it to your doctor as everyone is different.

Hi Jorge
and welcome

Yes I get gurgling noises all the time, I take it as things are moving in my 'factory' and all's well!
I think that if you had a blockage or obstruction, you would be quite poorly, with a fever, vomiting and diarrhea.
but mention your concerns to your doctor to put your mind at rest

I have this all the time too. If it's loud and goes on a while it usually means my guts are upset.

My bowels are loud all the time. I never realized till now that it is only when I sit or lay as well. My GI said it's OK as long as I don't have pain when it does it.

Mine is very noisy. Noises could be but aren't necessarily an indication of a narrowing. If you have pain, nausea, vomiting, irregularity or fever those would be signs that along with the gurgles you might have a problem.

I would suggest bringing it up with your GI. It may just be gas, it can be painful. Can you try gas x? You may also benefit from probiotics to replenish the good bacteria you lost through antibiotics.

I also have it! The person I used to sit next to in work would comment on it all the time - geez, why can't some people just keep their mouths shut!?
