Hi, I'm new to this forum, and I have a couple questions I'm unsure of.

I was diagnosed at age 19 on 2012, I was put on a lot of different things due to reactions and such it changed often. My doctor and I settled on imuran. Then after a few months of feeling better I decided to be dumb and stop taking the meds. I was fine for about 3 years until recently when I started having a flare.

I am currently only on 50mg of imuran a day, I can not take any more or any less according to the blood test. But lately I've been having pain with any pressure anywhere on my stomach. If my seatbelt pushes on it to tight, if my boyfriend lays his head on it and if I push on it, and pain on the right side like an inch above my hip that sometimes radiates to my back. I also get a really bad burning pain after eating (probably just heart burn but feels a little low), and pain under both ribs (off and on but super sharp). I'm a 23 year old female. My stomach looks like I'm probably 4-5 months pregnant, which I'm not, and I don't know how to tell if that's just the weight I put on or something more severe.

I'm sorry for rambling and complaining so much, I just don't know how to tell what's serious and not. It doesn't feel to serious because I can still function day to day. I haven't missed work (it's 4 hours a day 3 days a week but still). I feel like it I go to the ER at this point they won't take me serious and I have called my doctors MA and Nurse in the past 2 weeks and heard nothing back. I'm supposed to start remicade on Wednesday for the first time but I'm worried there is something going on.

I don't know but I wonder if your stomach might be distended. If that is the case then maybe you should have someone exam you. It is a shame your doctor is not calling you back. Maybe you should get a second opinion.

I'm just not sure how to tell if it's distended or not because I've also gained like 10 pounds. It's not hard or anything, it just hurts with pressure.

And I'm bummed they haven't called back, but I'm done bugging them. I understand not calling back the same day, they're busy and need to talk to the doctor and such, but it's been 2 weeks.

I am sorry you are going through this. I too have the same sensitivity to pressure on my stomach. I will swell up if my pants are too tight and the pain under my ribs is really bad. I too function like this, but it is very uncomfortable and it has been worse the last couple weeks.

I just had a colonoscopy today, and it was inconclusive (except maybe IBS) so they are going to do bloodwork and a CT scan next. Maybe a pill cam soon too.

Usually when I start feeling stuck, I try some diet changes, as sometimes that is the only thing I can control.

I'm sorry you are dealing with that, I hope you get answers soon! I haven't had a colonoscopy since my diagnosis in 2012, my doctor wants to wait until I'm out of this flare to do one. I have had 2 CTs this year, the first one showed inflammation, the second one slightly less inflammation (I was on Prednisone then). I just don't know how to tell if it's swelling or fat from the weight I gained.
