not fully diagnosed

I am new here first time posting, have been on for a couple of days reading other posts. Well here is my story two years ago i got really sick constant diarrhea and twice incontinent. I was so scared so i finally get in to see a doctor which i didn't have very good insurance since i was working at a fast food restaurant, anyways she kept insisting that i was too young to have anything wrong with me. I told her about my family history of colon cancer because i thought that was what i had. My sister had it when she was 17 had surgery to remove and has been fine since, two aunts died from it one uncle died from it and one other uncle had surgery and is recovering, so anyways after breaking down in tears she sends me to get a colonoscopy in which they found inflamatin in my bile ducts. The gi prescribed me entocort, and said i had enteritis colitis, still don't know what that is, he said take it for 6 wks which actually beacme 8 wks, after tapering off, and i still have the same syptoms two years later, i've lost 40 lbs, i know wear a size 1 in clothes and i seriously shop in the little girls section for undergarments. i have taken so much other medication and nothing works for me, everyone tries to blow it off like it's not that bad i want to know what you guys think. and also i get horrible headaches almost everyday and i am so tired, all i want to do is sleep, it's so bad that i literally pass out most people fall asleep and they know it, i just wake up and it's the next day any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.

It sounds as if your diagnosis is somewhat shaky. Maybe a good gastroenterologist should run some tests to make sure what exactly you do have. You certainly need to rule out cancer 100% as surgery would be a likely treatment in that case. You need a specialist to properly diagnose your condition. A GP is not going to cut it.

Once you have a solid diagnosis, then you will have a better chance of treating it properly.

If it turns out you have Crohn's or one of the other autoimmune related bowel problems you may want to look into Low Dose Naltrexone. Especially given you family history of cancer, which is certainly a consideration in your case. If it works for you, it will protect you some against cancer and help with your condition.

I use it for Crohn's Disease and it is working very well for me. Read up on it at

thank you for responding so quickly i am so fed up with doctors it is unreal, I go again on June 3rd so hopefully they will take it serious i had to beg and plea and cry in order to get the first colonoscopy done, but they only did lower and i think that i need an upper done

Most doctors couldn't diagnose a brick if you smacked them in the face with it. Crohn's is one of the most difficult diseases on earth to diagnose and most doctors don't even know that. Good luck. Realize that almost all of us have gone through endless BS before getting our diagnosis and even then many (I think most) have had some doctor try to revoke that diagnosis later on. The average crohn's patient goes through 6 misdiagnoses and that number doesn't count the ones that never get the correct diagnosis.

We'll be here to help you ride out the storm. Feel free to stop in and talk about whatever's on your mind. Or just vent if you like. We're all for a good anti-doctor or anti-sick rant now and then. The whole point of this place is to keep each other from going insane when the stress involved in dealing with the disease and all the nonsense surrounding it.

hey crystal. welcome to the forum
i have to say, your symptoms do sound like an IBD, but of course we cant dx you, you really need to see another doc if necessary.
like colt said, the dx process is hard and obnoxious, but is so much better once you finally have a clear one. then you can get to work on finding a good treatment.
just remember that you are not alone. i have similar symptoms- extreme weight loss (i shop in the girls section too), headaches, fatigue, etc.
hopefully soon youll find something that provides some relief.
good luck and keep positng and asking questions
