I've been diagnosed with Crohn's Disease for 22 years, Ankylosing Spondylitis a few years ago.

Have done very well since a bowel resection, but am now finding myself about to start Remicade -- primarily for the AS, although my Crohn's is also acting up.

I am sorry to hear that things are acting up on you, I will be keeping fingers crossed that the Remi does the trick. Out of interest have you been on any other meds since your resection? Also do the docs keep an eye on your vitamin levels?

Yes, I was, at various times, on Entocort, Imuran, 5-ASA and Methotrexate.

Currently getting B12 shots and iron infusions, as well as folic acid and Vitamin D supplements.

Glad to hear the docs are looking after that area of things as well hun, as you most probably know from before we do have a sub forum for the Remi in the treatment section that is worth having a nose at beings you're about to start this........

Hey GoJohnnyGo-of course I remember you Remicade helped me alot with AS and gut problems. Just keep up with MTX or whatever immunosuppresants so you won't build up antibodies. I'm on Humira now and not too happy with it, going to doc for more options tomorrow.
