A fairly long story, please bear with me! I have Diverticulitis and have been hospitalised twice in the last 6 months and pumped full of some serious antibiotics. Picked up Cdiff due to this and a nasty case of thrush, both gone now.
I am off work and have been for around 3 weeks. I am due for an endoscopy and a colonoscopy at the end of the month which I hope will shed some light.

The severe abdominal pain is just discomfort now and I have no markers for inflammation which pretty much means the diverticulitis is keeping quiet.

My main concern at the moment are my other symptoms and the fact the Doctors seem to be fairly dismissive of them.
In the absence of any real pain at the moment I am off work mainly due to the terrible fatigue. I always feel tired and any exertion lays me out. I have some really nagging pain around my joints, mainly my elbows but other joints too. It isn't always there though.
I have flaking skin on my cheeks, near to the nose and also behind my ears and in the ear folds, The ear folds are sore and crusts up.
I have no diarrhea but quite bad cramps when I need to go.
The doctor seems to be treating these as other issues but I feel strongly they are connected. Another strange and unexplained thing is that my triclyceride level is really high, normal level is 1.7 mmol/L and mine is 17.6........

I guess I am just wondering if any of this rings a bell with anyone?

Was at Doctors this morning and 2 patients with near identical symptoms have been diagnosed with Crohns. Guess I may know more after upcoming procedures. I feel picked on by fate here. Diverticulitis AND Crohns? Give me a break!

Oh no! I hope they get you figured out soon. That's a pretty wide range of symptoms, but I agree they could all be related. Autoimmune stuff is like that, and doctors seem to have a hard time figuring it out unless they've seen it before.

This has been with me for nearly 2 years now. One of the hardest parts is the feeling that you are a Hypochondriac with all these symptoms popping up! I have had random inflammations everywhere, waking up in the morning with a massive swollen elbow. I go to the Doctor and she says " Oh we will get an Ultrasound, that is markedly swollen" By the time I arrived for the ultrasound the swelling had gone. Next day my knee swells up!:hallo3:
