Had my colonoscopy this week, wasn't bad very uncomfortable and the prep failed to work. It showed nothing, no signs of anything. She took several biopsies waiting on results but I am so frustrated on what's going with my insides....

I have no idea what they think right now. They have been treating it like ibs since my son and nothing has worked and I have been getting worse

Ask them about the possibility of microscopic colitis. If your bloods and colonoscopy all come back normal it's probably IBS and hopefully you will find a treatment that works for you.

I was told I had IBS for about a year or so, until my stool samples showed very high inflammation in a calprotectin test. And I have lost count the amount of people I know with crohns, who have said for at least 6-12months they kept being told it was IBS

IBS is just what they call digestive symptoms when they can't find anything wrong with objective test results - it's very frustrating.

Lroweb - are you undiagnosed or have you had other diagnoses in the past?

RE.IBS I have even had people tell me they reckon it's diagnosed when doctors either can't be bothered to go through the hassle of booking you in for bloods and referrals, or they just dont have a clue whats wrong with you.

I'd trust a GI's diagnosis of IBS over a family DR's anyday
