numbness in legs and pretty much all over

I have been having some crazy weird sensations throughout my legs and honestly all over. I have battled with anxiety for yeaaaaaaaaars and I thought it might be just that, but I know what I feel and maybe it is something more than just the anxiety. I know that anxiety can cause acute tingling sensations, but this is chronic and doesn't really go away til I go to sleep and wake up or if I just get busy and totally forget about them.

These sensations go away during the day (maybe i'm not focused as much on them), but they are really annoying at night. They aren't numb, but have the feeling as if they are..if that makes sense? I'm thinking maybe b12 deficiency? I guess I just want to see if anyone else suffers from this and how you treat it?

Thanks for any advice or input! :)

With it being worse at night, it made me think of restless legs syndrome. I think it's magnesium deficiency that can contribute to RLS. But other deficiencies (like b12, copper, zinc) can have similar effects, so the first thing I would do is get your blood thoroughly tested!

If that turns out fine, I would go to my GP and get a referral to a neurologist, as it could be peripheral neuropathy (which is basically inflamed or damaged nerves).

I have been suffering with something similar since April 2010 (mine doesn't worsen at night) because the doctors kept fobbing me off with Crohn's or depression. I'm now undergoing tests to find out the cause.

Just out of interest, can you remember back to when your symptoms started? Did you have any sort of illness? I had a virus when mine started, and my doctors think it's connected (either the direct cause, or a trigger for an underlying problem).

I honestly couldn't tell you when it started.. i know its been off and on for years though. I start to notice it more when I'm tired or when i happen to be anxious. Which i am scared this will be brushed off as anxiety. But believe me this isn't anxiety, this is a different feeling. If that makes sense.

Thank you for your input! I made an appointment with my doc for the 31st, so we will see what happens then i guess.

I don't want to scare you with this but have you ever gotten a MRI. I once had an episode of tingling like that when I was 17 and they rushed me to get a brain MRI to check if there was anything wrong. It can be early sign of MS. I'd speak with a doctor and see if that's something you can get verified. Do you have other symptoms, blurred vision, limb weakness, issue with your balance, spasms, etc?

No problems with my coordination, strength in any extremity, or spasms. So i myself had ruled out anything like MS. But i will talk with my doc about all the possibilities. Thank you tor that hopefully they can r/o MS too. I think Crohns, anemia, and anxiety are enough on my plate.

I guess we will see ;/

Hmmm, I'd definitely bring it up to a doc to make sure it isn't anything serious. I did have similar issues (left leg going numb) when walking/standing, but it turned out it was a pinched nerve. A few visits to the massage therapist and I was good.

Well, my MRI came out negative when I had it, they were never able to tell me what was wrong but it faded with time. I think it's more a matter of precaution than anything else. Chances are thin but it usually better to rule out things.
If I may ask, what kind of medication are you on for your Crohn? Some meds can trigger all kind of side effects and maybe that could explain?
