Oh the irony!!

This made me laugh today,so thought I would share with you all.

Got a letter from the hospital today, where I receive my care, to take part in a research study as to the impact my UC has on my daily life.

I read the accompanying information and thought I would love to take part in this and hopefully make a small difference.

Got the part where it tells you who is running the study. It is only the gastro consultant who when I came to him after bleeding a lot for 6 months, couldnt leave the house, couldnt stand up straight for pain, told me there was nothing wrong with me, it was all in my head and it was probably IBS.

I will so be doing this research study and I will give him lots of details as to the effect my UC has on my life. :rof:

I will also let him know that I possibly have Crohns in my terminal ilieum.

Bring it on!

plus doesn't he know that iBS is your nerves not head.
docs should hold off on those statements till they are in your head.

It was the first time he had seen me, I had a colonoscopy with the written dx of distal colitis with ulcers. Plus he was one of the top consultants at the hospital as well. I was so pleased when I got asigned to him, didnt last long.
I mean REALLY!!
Oh well, payback will be fun and interesting

funny, your story reminds me of a friend of mine whose parents (both doctors) sent her to a shrink to help her with her "anorexia" before they found out the weight loss was due to chron's :lol2: she finds it very amusing now...

Ah, doctors like this do my head in!
I saw one recently - didint have any notes on me because I was in a different place.
'How do you know you have crohn's disease?'
When I told him I grew out of my childhood peanut allergy he said 'It makes you wonder if you were even allergic to that in the first place'!? Excuse me? You don't even know anything about me!

This consultant had my notes in front of him but told me he couldnt find my results in my folder because he didnt have time!!!
They really do get above their station sometimes.
