omg you guys, a couple of minutes ago I started getting randomly severe stabbing pains, a little bit lower than the ones I feel daily, but above the pelvis. I pretty much have to hold my breath because breathing in just stabs more. Its hurting so bad my whole entire right side of stomach feels like it's being pressed on. It almost makes me want to throw up. And this just adds to the fact that I'm for some reason having a bad asthma day...
I know all I seem to do is rant on this site, but seriously this is not good and i don't know what to do since I have no idea what it is!! :eek2:

Hi Lisa, don't take any chances. If it gets any worse, or you start to get a temperature etc get it checked out. Wouldn't want to speculate on the actual cause.

Hope it goes very soon. Take care.

Lisa, one thing you don't want to do is eat! Wait for some time until after the pain stops and then eat small amounts at a time. Stay away from anything with more than a few grams of fiber. No nuts or any hard vegetables like carrots, which you shouldn't be eating anyway. AND DON'T TAKE PEPTO BISMAL or anything like that. I did that on my first flare, thinking it was an upset stomach and I made it much worst. I'll spare you the gory details, but my emergency room visit was a nightmare.

It picked the worst timing to strike, whatever it is....I REALLY hope it is not another flareup that's just decided to move itself, that's the last possible thing I would need right now! :ybatty: . If I had a way to the hospital I'd go right now..but that's not possible.

I'm thinking the asthma troubles might have something to do with the fact its been above freezing where I live here for university, all the snow has melted...I'm guessing the mouldy leaves and grass could be triggering that??

Those sharp sudden pains are the worse!! They just come out of nowhere. Sometimes they feel like a knife being jabbed into your ribs and sometimes it feels like a lightning bolt shooting up your spine.

Yes, a knife or lightning bolt kind of stabbing..and they still haven't really gone away.
Unless it could be more side effects since I've just been put back in Pariet 4 days ago..??

I would call your GI tomorrow. I wish you the best of luck.

I hate those stabbing pains and sometimes they just come for a day and mean absolutely nothing and other times...well other times all hell can just break loose.

Doesn't the uni have a nurse or other medico on duty, on campus, at least on call?

It may not be convenient, but if you've had a sudden, dramatic change in symptoms ... don't be passive about it, get it checked as soon as possible.

Yeah they do have a mini doc office, but i was told you have to book appointments and the only one you can see without doing that is only there til noon. Which i think is a bunch of bull...especially since i have class until 12:20.
I'm goin home this weekend, so maybe its a good thing...remember that i do live just 2 blocks from the hospital.
I just dont like the feeling of stabbing where the pains are in a spot that makes it hard to sit... and i still have the arthritis acting up and am majorly nauscious..
I slept pretty restlessly, and have a headache..of course my landlord just has to be vacuuming right outside my door :(

aw sorry to hear about your nasty pains, lisa. i hope they settle soon, but like you say - you're going to be near the hospital this weekend - i'd be really tempted to pay them a visit, see what they think. good luck.
