Hi all,

Just an update, It's now been 3 weeks since what I hope to be my last operation, had a total bowel removal n resection of the small colon, and have to say although I've a permanent bag for life, I feel so much better n almost feels like I've got my life back.

Thanks for everyone's support during the hard times :)

Hi Sandi,
I'm glad you are doing so good.

I just wanted to tell you about my wife.

My wife and I both have IBD, I know WOW. We have been married for almost 40 years. Anyway, my wife had her colon removed about 6 years ago and she has done well ever since. She can do ANYTHING she wants and eat anthing she wants.

I just wanted to tell you so you can look forward to the same.

I pray that you stay well for a long time.

Hi Jim,

Thank you for this, I'm looking forward to getting my life back as much as possible to where it was before being diagnosed less than a year ago.

Sandi.

Glad it's going so well for you I'm looking forward to getting my life bk after my op next week maybe after a few months.. :(:(

Mines permanent and loving it omg how sad is that lol I'm a tesco's bag for life job, don't let it get to you hun, you will get everything back in your life as if it never happened the only reminder you got is ya bag. :) :)

Don't be scared hun, I've only had my bags/ bag for less than a year, so know how scary it can be, but I've got a great stoma nurse who has helped me through the scary time, now I'm looking to my future n getting my life ack on track, it also helps to cat to others who are going through it, so you can through it together :) :)

You got both ileostomy/urostomy? One is bad enough lol sorry. Thanks I feel better now I've ranted on surgery forum but got no replies yet :/ scared of open surgery as it was keyhole last time and absolutely wrecked for three and a half months and don't want to same or worse... I've also been diagnosed with indeterminate colitis so scared it will stop me healing properly... I'm such a worrier. Are you in intensive care afterwards for a few days and do you get put on steroids to build your body back up? Thanks for this really do appreciate it :)
