Hello everyone

I was diagnosed in around 1996 and since then I have ticked along on Pentasa and Prednisolone when the CD flared. My last Colonoscopy in 2005 only identified active disease in the last six inches of my bowel. Happy days or so I thought! That was until around 10 days ago when I flared and developed a massive fissure. I have never felt pain like it. I am going to the loo 20+ times a day and because of the fissure the GP does not want to tackle the diarrhoea as firm stools would make the fissure worse. I have GTN ointment although four days has not been enough to make a difference yet. Even worse I have a cough and when I cough my backside hurts! Ho hum. I'd love to hear if anyone else has had 'fissure trouble' and if so how long and how it was resolved.

Bev

Hi Bev and welcome! I am sorry your Crohn's is acting up at the moment and you have a painful fissure. I don't have any experience, so I can't offer any advice. I did find this recent thread that could be helpful.

I sure hope you start to feel better soon, Bev!

Hi Bev and welcome! Sorry about all the pain you are experiencing with the fissure. If you keep poking around the forum, I am sure you will be able to read about others' experiences with fissures and you might find some useful advice.

Good luck - hope you find some relief very soon - Amy

Hi there and welcome :) I'm afraid I don't have any good advice for you at present but wanted to welcome you as well. I hope you're able to get the flare under control ASAP and the fissure heals up good and fast.

Take care!
