Last year, I had an outbreak on the inside palms of my hands and fingers.

It started out really itchy, on one hand then became severely itchy. Like so intense that it scared me. It resulted in little bumps all over my hand. They itched and itched and itched.

Eventually they were hardened and the pain and redness was awful from it. I had to put ice on my hand, lotion it and put a sock over it just to cool it off. Then, it peeled.

Then, it started on my other hand. Now it was both hands. This went on for about a week and then went away.

What could this be? It was awful.

hey Jamilea

Is this what you are talking about??
The pictures are exactly what I have but not to that extent... read the treatment for it - u may be making it worse. The good news is - it is not contagious.
I was researching it tonight as I have GI appointment tomorrow (today - its 3:30 am...)
I showed him but he just wrote it down.
The macro pictures make it a lot worse than it really is but mine looks more like the 2nd pic and after awhile the 2nd pic. The peeling and fissures are very painful.
I have shown 2 doctors and neither have done anything..

Hey Jamilea - I wasn't sure if you would get my response...
yep - that is exactly what mine looks like...and I am aware of one other person with crohns who has it (more could just I havent heard yet).
I believe there is a connection between water and the bumps... it maes it worse...which is a problem...you have to wash your hands a lot. I have it quite bad now to where it is peeling off and has fissures... painful at that point. Mine isnt that itchy though.... weird huh>
I am glad yours is better :) I think there is a connection between Crohns and the rash. When my bowels are worse, my hands are worse..
good to hear from you!! :D

Interesting - looks VERY similar to what I went through with my hand - and still have a little of on my feet/ankles.....although my blisters/pustules tend to turn yellowish and dont' stay clear....thankfullyI don't have any real outbreak right now, butI can still tell where I had the problems on my hand- the skin is slightly different.....
