Hi everyone just wondered if anyone elses child has complained of being warm few days after infusion. My son had his on Thursday and has been complaining since yesterday of feeling hot. His temperature has been normal when I have checked it though he feels warm to touch. I thought yesterday may have been due to constipation but he had a motion last night. He has messaged me from school to say its getting worse.

Autoimmune kids have trouble with their autonomic systems as well
Which means they are more prone to things like
Feeling hot flushed or like they have a fever (even without one)
Same issue with cold
Skin changing colors
Livedo reticularis rashes

Ds does all of this
Not necessarily related to biologics
But more a Crohns "extra"

I was concerned that he may be having a reaction as had chest pain on Thursday evening as well. He has no temperature though so that had my mind at ease a little. There are so many of these added 'extras' i'm starting to learn about. its terrible all the things these kids have to cope with. Though they do it all without a complaint. True inspirations to us all.

Chest pain is a different story
Delayed reactions can happen for up to two weeks after the infusion
Did they give you a list of symptoms of a delayed reaction and when to call ?

This was his 6th infusion. The gastroenterology nurse is off sick at the moment so a new nurse was doing it. The speed of the infusion was given at a quicker rate this time. He did go a bad colour and slept as he felt drained during the infusion and the nurse said she would mention this to the gastroenterologist at their next meeting. He has been experiencing severe fatigue and constipation after infusions. the chest pain didn't last long he was able to go over to sleep. He described it as sharp pain. He hasn't mentioned it since though. The GP checked a number of bloods due to his fatigue and said only thing that showed up was thyroid slightly low and vitamin D and ferritin but hid haemoglobin was ok. Although his bloods are fine all these side effects are making me think infliximab may not be the drug for him.

Sorry I didn't really answer the question. Do you have a list of delayed reactions and when to call please
