I have this strange pain in my left hand side which is like a stabbing pain and it is also making me feel quite sick, it is really weird because my bowel was really hurting yesterday and now I think it spread to my pancreas. Does anyone know why??
I'm sorry but I don't know your background (your diagnosis or you med list if any). To me it sounds like an issue with the colon but that's just based off of your post. Have you spoken to your GI about the pain yet? What did they say?
I have had crohn's for a while now and it has been on and off, but at the minute i am on the aza, my doc told me to finish of on the prednisolone which didn't as my doc at the hospital told me to move straight on to the aza which i am taking 2 tablets a day for, I have only been taking it for about 1 week now, my doc told me that it will take it a few months to kick so i guess it will be a while before it starts to work.
Yes it does take a while to start working so that's why one of your doctors wanted you to stay on the Pred for a while longer. Why did the other doctor tell you stop? What dose were you on and how long were you taking it? Stopping it immediately after long term use can cause complications.
I've never taken it but I do take 6MP and I know you have to watch out for severe abdominal pain and have blood work done on a regular basis (I have mine done once a month). The pain can come about early on while taking it as it can affect your pancreas. How often is your doctor having you do blood work? Did you tell your doctor that you are currently having stabbing pain on your left side that makes you nauseous? If not, I'd do that asap.
i had crohns in the last part of the colon and rectum- it is on the left hand side and at times was very sore in that localised area. it would have been also sore to press when lying flat on my back. do you know where your crohns in located?
i would let your GI know and in the meantime- if the pain becomes above a 7 on a 0-10 scale or you start vomiting because of pain i would go to a&e incase its something more serious- a simple xray can sometimes give you quick answers.
good luck!! take care of yourself and rest! x
They still don't know what area my crohn's is in. My doc I don't know why he told me to stop the other med even though he had said to reduce it down to one for a week I went from eight to two tablets each week, when my doc at the hospital told me to move straight onto the aza even though I hadn't even finished my other med did give me a massive stabbing pain in my bowel which stopped me from getting up for 3 days. Whilst I have been on the aza I have only had my bloods done once.
