My GI is great at putting things off for another month or two, to see if increased dosages of this and that are working. Well, they're not and the past few days I've been in the worst pain I've had since before my resection three years ago. My primary care physician, won't even address really anything because he thinks my Crohn's causes it all. I go in for brochitis and he tells me to see my GI, I mean wtf? He won't prescribe me anything for pain and gives me a 'tough sh**' look when I tell him how much pain I'm in. My GI doesn't like prescribing pain meds, which is understandable because of the constipation that comes with it, but trust me, constipation is not a problem. I've tried finding some other kind of otc pain relief, but of course only Tylenol is the only one I can take but then after taking the strongest tylenol I can find at my pharmacy for a few days, it might as well be friggin' breath mints. I'm basically at the point where I feel I have to go to the ER to get relief, which usually ends up being a week or two locked up at the hospital.

I dunno, sorry just needed to unload. Thanks.

Locked up at the hospital? Sounds like you aren't being treated properly in general and pain killers aren't really the issue. Gotta control the cause not just mask it. Your GP should be able to refer you to pain management if they don't like the idea of pain killers. I'd want a new GI if I was simply left in pain for months. You gotta draw the line somewhere here and be firm so you can be taken seriously. Docs always warn about the constipation. I've never been constipated in my entire life to where it really sounds like a luxury but I'm sure its not. Hang in there and get firm and start stepping on some toes.

Tylenol are breathmints...I'm peeing myself laughing because its soooooo true. I can't believe that stuff aleviates pain for anyone except maybe my kids!
