I have pain under my ribs on the right hand side near the bottom of my ribcage and it looks like my ribs are actually sticking out a bit. Does anyone have any ideas as to what this is?

Glasgowgirl. Hi sorry you are suffering, how long have you had the pain? does it radiate anywhere else? I only ask as I had pain in the same place and it was gallstones x

It's only been sore for a couple of days but it's not the first time it's happened. It's not excruciatingly painful though, more uncomfortable than anything else.

Hello, what kind of pain are you having and how long have you had it? Is there anything that makes it better or worse?

From location, there are a few things that could be going on, a common thing would be gall stones, which can be very painful or it could be coming from your liver or your upper intestine. If the pain is new and severe then it would be advisable to go and get it checked out sooner rather than later.

If its milder then calling your IBD nurse or consultant is a good idea, any new symptom should always be reported. If the pain changes before you can speak to them then again either go to A+E or see your GP for advice.

The pain is kinda hard to describe. It feels more uncomfortable than painful. I find I get it when I get really bad indigestion.
Unfortunately I don't have an IBD nurse as I'm still at the stage of having suspected Crohn's and not yet officially diagnosed. I'll be sure to mention it to my Gastro consultant at my next appointment.

It could well be gallstones but like valleysangel said it could be other things too. I would go and get it checked, I had the pain that kept coming and going and was really uncomfortable. Have you noticed whether eating makes the pain worse? x

I don't think eating makes it worse because I haven't eaten at all today and I feel pretty uncomfortable but I do also have epigastric pain and discomfort from indigestion x

My indigestion has been getting worse recently as well despite being on 40mg of omeprazole. I've vomited today but not because I felt nauseous but because I feel as if I have food sitting in my stomach. I don't know if it's worth going to see my GP about this seeing as I'm going for an upper endoscopy next month anyway.
