Does any of you children get painful hiccups?
What could they be?
How do you stop them?

Grace is getting them and she acts as if they hurt and are quite bothersome.:(

Thanks for the help.:ghug:

has she changed any of her medications lately? I also know that she is still semi un-diagnosised. Have they ever done a SMBT or swallow test to see if the disease if effecting the upper part of her GI.

I do not have hiccups a lot but I do have problems swallowing and it comes from my GERD and CD. For me it is caused by infamattions.

DS has had them since before birth.
When he is flaring they can last most of the day and do hurt.
Hugs Hun
Drinking a large glass of water sometimes work typically. They hurt more at bed so we just try to get him back to sleep.

Not sure how you stop them but...

When you get a particularly nasty bout of hiccoughs don't yours hurt? Mine do. :eek2:

I have once or twice DustyKat, BUT mine never had me running to my mom in tears and holding my neck in pain.

Hugs....
We have tears here.
When is your second opinion Gi appt???
She may have upper Gi issues ... DS does

Thanks my little penguin,:rosette2: GI visit on the 15th with the same GI.

The good news so far this morning she's had none. YA!
So maybe the last two-three days were it.:thumleft:

Keep your bubble but let me know if you need a shoulder.
DS always has them in spurts then nothing then again.
Glad to hear she is better this am

Ok Has anyone ever had Hiatus Hernia?

I've been looking up different things about the painful hiccups.
GERD keeps pooping up but so does Hiatus Hernia. That brings to mind when she suffered her prolapse she acted as if she was gasping/reflex/hiccuping and the end of pushing.
Could she have suffered this also? No real painful hiccups today but I know they can come and go. I'll be talking to the doc on Tuesday.

Prolapse and hiccups and gets can all be from connective tissue disorder as well as motility issues --- ie Ethlers Danlos syndrome
Nothing is ever simple

Farmwife and MLP, I'm so sorry both your little ones have to suffer with this!!!! Like you said, MLP, 'nothing is ever simple'. :ghug: Hope both are good today!

Future reference,:D

Diflucan (which Grace is on) can cause painful burps or HICCUPS.:(

Sorry my bad:blush: for not reading up on the (rare) side-effects.:stinks:

Thanks one and all for the responses.

Oh mlp I looked up what you typed. I don't think Grace has that. THANK GOD. Of course IBD isn't much better.:voodoo:
