I'm lousy at paperwork. I'm looking for your suggestions on keeping better organized.

I keep a food diary on myfitnesspal.com (when he is feeling bad)
I have a spiral bound notebook for notes I take at the drs. office
I have a 7 pocket folder for insurance EOB, pharm receipts, etc.

And still...I lose stuff, forget to sign paperwork, always behind on paying bills, and always searching for stuff.

What works well for you?

I started a medical file for her in the filing cabinet. All those scraps of notes from the Dr. visits, diets I've printed the details for that might help, insurance rejections and so on all go in there.

Any bills or paperwork I have to deal with go in a shallow container by the front door. I see that pile constantly. It helps me remember.

Also have a whiteboard and calendar in the same area. I write reminders on those.

Portable plastic hanging file box
With folders for everything
Ongoing word single page doc
That gets updated with date of appt
List of summary symptoms
Concerns
Questions
And prescriptions needed -one page and saved
Copy for doc and copy for me
One other single page word doc saved with meds
Current meds start date dose
OTC meds start date dose
Current conditions
Past meds including pred /abx start date and dose
All color coded one page

Print copies for doc and me

Auto refill is your friend as well as three month supplies of meds
I calendar on iPhone syncs to computer and all iPad has reminders 1 week out to 15 min prior so the whole family knows what is going on

Good luck
