Hi everyone! It's been quite a while since I've posted on forum. I've had four surgeries over the past few months. Three of them were for my implanted port. The last one, which I'm still recovering from, was for a hystorectomy, (surgeon decided to do a complete hystorectomy), a bladder lift and exploratory surgery. The exploratory portion revealed a large colon, large gullbladder and part of the colon that had a definite start where it turned blue or grayish blue. The surgeon said the colon was pink, pink, pink and then blue. Does anyone know why part of the colon would be blue?

It sounds like intestinal ischemia to me which could be the result of a lack of blood in that area, that is just my first hypothesis. I don't really know what else it could be (I mean, I've never really heard of blue colon but I could imagine it is a possibility as for other part of the body.
