HI,

I've just been put on Pentasa and am pretty sure I'm feeling side effects - nausea, dizziness, light headedness. Just wondering if anyone can tell me how long those side effects last? If they'll go away at some point, I'll stay on, but I can't imagine living like this... Anyone?

Thanks.

Are you taking your tablets with food? I find I only get those side effects if I forgot a tablet and have to take it later on an empty stomach.

Thanks. Some were taken with food, some without. I'll try that. The pharmacist seemed to think it didn't matter, but I'll definitely try it with food today.

I take my Pentasa 4 times a day after meals, I've been on it for 5 years, with no side effects at all, I think all new meds make you a bit disorientated for a bit, til you adjust.
give them time, hang on in there

Nicole Bc I've been taking pentassa since Dec,i;m also taking Humira none of effects your having sometimes i think i have some ear ringing but who knows what that is, i think Pentassa is very well tolerated med, give it a chance change the way you take it,with food without food, hope you feel better soon.

Just keep an eye on it esp if you increase your dosage. I had bad headaches and neck pain with it and had to discontinue use, but it was a very unusual reaction!

Ive been on Pentasa since March and I still experience those side effects....especially dizziness. It doesnt matter if I eat or take it on an empty stomach....I have the side effects and they suck....BUT Im not as sick as I was 6 months ago. I can deal with dizziness if it means my tush gets a break!! LOL~

I have been taking Lialda for a couple of weeks, same medicine bascially. I take four pills, they are big too, first thing in the AM with nothing in my stomach. No side affetcs so far. In the middle of the day when I pee it's sort of orange. lol But that's not a problem.
