Anyone know how long it generally takes for Pentasa to reduce inflammation due to Crohn's? I have been taking it a month with absolutely no positive effects.

I do not have an answer for you, but here is some insight: I personally took Pentasa for 5 years with no benefit. Where is your Crohn's? I just switched doctors and learned that Pentasa targets the colon. If your disease is more severe/active in your terminal ileum or higher up in your small intestine, Pentasa may not be able to reduce that inflammation. I hope this helps, I know this info could have saved me a resection! Take care.

Pentasa is actually effective throughout the intestines. However, it is more use as a preventative than treating current inflammation.
