Perineal itching

So for the past 2 years or so (about as long as I've been dx with IBD), i've had issues with perineal itching - as in the entire area front to back. I've talked to my GI, my internist, and my OBGYN multiple times and no one seems to be able to figure it out aside from giving me a steroid cream to use. My OBGYN has done cultures and all have come back negative, and we even tried a course of Diflucan just in case it was yeast but it didn't do anything. I am getting frustrated at this point because it is very uncomfortable and wakes me up at night. I am just finishing a 5 week course of pred, and the itching was completely gone until this week (i have about 3 more days and i will be done with the pred - so pretty low dose at this point). I'm not sure what else to do or who else I can talk to to get this figured out.

Has anyone else with IBD experienced this, and if so, what did you do to treat it?

How awful for you.
In the past I have used zinc cream,sudocream and calendula cream all of which have given some relief.
I only used pure soap like goat's milk soap for babies.
Lukewarm water in the shower.Nothing hot or cold.
Followed a bland diet..
It eventually went away thank goodness
