Period and colonoscopy?

It feels like I'm about to get my period (its a few days early) and my colonoscopy is tomorrow! Has anyone run into this before? I try so hard to schedule these things but the best laid plans I guess...

I know its medical and all that but I'm still freaked out/embarrassed/feel bad for my GI... etc

Think I should call the colonoscopy nurse to warn them? think I'd get laughed at if I did?

did I mention I slept about 4 hours last night? ug...

well, in case anyone else is wondering...

I did call ahead and they did think it was weird I'd called.

When I got there and I asked if I could use a tampon, the nurse didn't know but I made her ask my GI to be sure and got the OK.

I've always worried about scheduling around it but it really wasn't a big deal

Sorry your thread was missed. I've seen this asked many times on the forum before so don't worry, you're definitely not the only one.

I've been on my period during scopes before and just used a tampon. Even if you don't use tampons its not a big deal since scopes don't take that long in the first place plus they're venturing up your butt so a little blood from another area is the least of their concerns.

How'd the scope go? Any results?

Hey, thanks, I know I should have searched, I was just in freak out mode.

The scope went well, some stuff at the surgical site but nothing else, yay
