I don't actually have crohns myself, but my daughter Rebecca has just been diagnosed.
She has for years been treated for heavy and painful periods, she was put on contraceptive pill at 14 after everything else attempted to ease or manage her pains failed to work,
Rebecca was also seeing the doctor with suspected lactose intolerance. (Dr's diagnosis not mine)
As things went on and she seemed to become unwell, in pain and on the loo for hours almost after every time she ate, eventually after referal to a gastro consultant, endo and colon scopes she was diagnosed with crohns.
During one of her periods her pain was soooooo bad she was admitted tom hospital and given diamorphine for the pain.
Her contraceptive has been changed to the injection in the hope to stop the periods and pains.
Is this normal train of events with periods and crohns?
